Mervyn
Haird started his collection of photographs and ephemera
of Cottenham over 50 years ago. At the time of his death in 2004, he had
amassed a collection of over 3,000 images of Cottenham, covering every aspect
of village life. Over 500 street scenes, a detailed photographic history of
farming in and around the village, ploughing matches, Cottenham's own
industrial revolution, sporting history, the Feast, portraits, weddings,
school photographs, Cottenham at War, village outings, the history of Church
and Chapel and much, much more. This Archive of Cottenham will delight and
enthral you and it is a wonderful legacy to remember the work of Mervyn
Haird. |
